I'm the guest DJ spinning at the ad-ver-sary CD release party (Tuesday, July 8th). Bone Music is an awesome new CD, and I'll be playing AVS tracks throughout the night along with classic Guillotine Industrial, including a few new Industrial mash-ups I've been putting together specifically for the event.
I'll be spinning as the resident DJ along with DJ Alice (who spins awesome goth music) at Re-Vamp - as of this week Re-Vamp has moved from Sunday nights to Saturday. (Saturday, July 12)

This was originally mixed about two months ago and then put on hold. The mix I was going to release this week I managed to misplace the source files for, so it'll wait another week or two to come out. This mix was the one I was assembling when the Re-Vamp iPod Battles started, and you can trace some of the elements in this mix to the second mix I put together for the competition (shortly after I started on this mix).

I've also reduced the bitrate on this download to 128 - reducing file size from 90 megs to 50-something. Unless people complain, future releases will all be at this bitrate.

Originally Dex and I started bouncing ideas for this mix around to have in time for Easter... well, that didn't happen. At the same time, Kristan started putting together a religion mix of his own. So, in the end we combined playlists and we have our first guest DJ event on Guillotine.

There's a long set of Kristan's in the middle of the mix. I did all the mixing, but more than half the tracks were selected by Kristan, a long-time Guillotine co-host.

This mix was originally put together for Sloot (hence the title) as a sampler of the acts at Kinetik this May in Montreal. It is just a sampler, and it missing a large number of the acts, and it includes a Depeche Mode song at the end as an in-joke between us.

It's a great warm-up for a fantastic festival coming up this spring.

Noisuf-X, Neikka RPM, and Angelspit are among my favourite listening right now... No Angelspit in this mix, but just about every mix over the past two months has an Angelspit track on it.

Guillotine 1503 - The Old Grey Mare

This was the mix for the final iBattles competition. It's named after a joke myself and two of the other DJs had where we started doing the "Old Grey Mare" dance that the "old jewish man" did in the Crusty Comeback Special episode of the Simpsons whenever there was too many "technical difficulty" time during someone's set.

The mix had to be 25 to 30 minutes long, this one comes in over by 22 seconds at 30:22.

At heart, it's the 1502 Mix followed by part of the 1501 mix minus the mashup (which didn't go over that well), a few new samples, the addition of the Zombie Girl and Shiverhead tracks, and the removal of one of the two NIN tracks. It dropped last night at the iBattles finals at re-vamp in Ottawa. And won.

The second 15-minute Guillotine mix for re-vamp's iBattles (and the winning set for March 16th, 2008).

Originally I intended to have at least one or two goth songs in the mix, like last week. But the fact of the matter is that I'm known as an Industrial DJ, so I might as well play to my strengths. My semi-nod to goth is the EBM / Industrial Funker Vogt track "Snow Was Falling".

There's a few bites in this mix that are really "best of" moments. There's only 1:55 of Headhunter in there, and maybe 2 minutes of Just One Fix, half of This Is My Rifle, and the shortest NIN track from Y34RZ3R0.

And since I'm dropping this the night before St Pat's, I close with a short a capella piece by Flogging Molly.
